Every month, in Johannesburg and Cape Town, we host coffee shop discussions to talk about identity, politics and culture.
The detailsCome join us for 1-2 hours where we facilitate discussions around the experiences of Africans in the current socioeconomic & political context. These intimate discussions will be facilitated by a host, and will number 6 people where all voices matter.
The agreementWe strive to create a dynamic and interactive discussion space where all voices matter. We also strive to ensure that we have the challenging conversations and ensure that not only speaking, but also listening is important.
The way forwardWe welcome people to have the difficult conversations about identity in their own contexts, using the intimate discussion spaces in multiple contexts to shape the narratives that affect their lives.
Joining us were a group of dynamic Africans at the forefront of film, media, business and engineering - each equally committed to shaping the contexts for inclusivity. Highlights included the agreement that difficult conversations about race and identity were needed, and collective movements were pertinent for change.
